Abstract :
Optical pulse coding/decoding can be achieved in a more energy-efficient manner in fibre ladder networks than in other proposed networks. Coherent recombination of the pulses in matched two-fibre networks can also be used to enhance decoding. The authors demonstrates these principles in a small prototype network.
