Abstract :
Transmission line conductor thermal studies conducted in a wind tunnel are reported. AAC and ACSR core-to-surface temperature gradient and conductor steady-state, transient, and step response were measured as a function of wind speed and direction, temperature, and current. Data are presented and compared with two conductor thermal models, the House-Tuttle model and the EPRI DYNAMP model
