Abstract :
Experimental demonstration of 4800 km transmission of 4times40 Gbit/s CSRZ signals using optical phase conjugation for nonlinearity compensation is presented. This is a 50% increase in transmission reach compared to the system without spectral inversion. The optical phase conjugation was implemented using a single periodically poled lithium niobate in a re-entrant recirculating loop
