Abstract :
Constructing a hybrid sensor network with a mixture of mobile sensors and static sensors can achieve a balance between sensor coverage and sensor cost. In this paper, we propose an improved PSO-based method to guide the movement of mobile sensors in hybrid networks. In this paper, static and mobile sensors detect coverage holes locally and use the density and distance as parameter to drive the mobile sensors to move. Simulation results show that the method achieve suitable trade-off between coverage and sensor cost.
