Offshore manufacturing [lean manufacturing as an alternative]

This article takes a look at an alternative to the current trend in British manufacturing of offshore outsourcing. Lean manufacturing, or more rightly a ´lean enterprise strategy´ which is an obvious solution is discussed. Lean is not just about cost savings, it is about creating a flexible, agile and responsive environment, with which businesses gain competitive advantage by servicing customers better at lower cost and with higher profits.
