  • Abstract
    A new image vector quantiser (VQ) is introduced which uses a modified LBG algorithm for codebook production called LBG with approximated centroids (LBG-AC). Simulations show that an increase in PSNR (~0.7-1.2 dB) can be achieved using VQ with the LBG-AC algorithm over VQ with the LBG algorithm
