Abstract :
In this note, we consider systems which can be decomposed as a cascade connection of linear subsystems. The second subsystem is assumed to have the controller canonical form. The main result is a version of Hautus´ test, which allows us to check controllability and stabilizability properties of these systems by means of reduced-order rank computations
