Abstract :
Are we in danger of losing our humanity and becoming soulless machines? This is the issue at the heart of this book, which examines the findings of a host of critics who see technology as a threat to our humanity. Some of the writers cited include Donna Harraway, Arnold Toynbee, Lewis Mumford, I. A. Richards, and Jacques Ellul, among others. Russo has collected a wealth of evidence to support his contention that the humanities as a major influence in modern society are dead.
