Abstract :
An upper bound of the bit error rate (BER) of suboptimal coherent detection using Viterbi algorithm (VA-CD) is analysed for M-ary PSK in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels. The accuracy of the derived BER upper bound is confirmed by computer simulation of 4 PSK transmission
