Abstract :
Mode-locked operation has been achieved in a CW pumped Cr3+:LiSr0.8Ca0.2AlF6 laser. Pulses of 150 fs duration were directly generated from the actively mode-locked laser. A CW krypton laser operating with 1 W in the red was used to pump the 15 mm long crystal.
