Abstract :
The paper presents a new approach to the solution of the compatible impedance problem. It avoids the complicated coefficient constraints, and uses a set of algebraic equations to test the compatibility of two given impedances which may or may not be positive real. Furthermore, the coupling network may be reciprocal or nonreciprocal. Illustrative examples are also given
