It is a pleasure to write the Editorial for this third IET Renewable Power Generation Proceedings Special Issue from the Science & Research Track of the 2012 EWEA Annual Event, organised by the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) in Copenhagen in April 2012. EWEA2012 hosted more than 10 000 delegates including more than 3000 scientific researchers and teachers.
