Abstract :
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the NEW IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Magazine. Even though our previous publication ¿ The EMC Newsletter ¿ looked like a magazine due to the extensive articles and paid advertising, with this issue we are officially an IEEE Magazine. One will note we have our familiar, popular columns from the Newsletter included in the new Magazine as well. Plus, we\´ve added two new columns. One is a Signal Integrity (SI) column. In addition, now, we have a forum where society members interested in this area of EMC can publish their practical, application-oriented material and create more exposure for this important area. The other new column involves papers and articles on a specific "technical theme." For this inaugural issue, we have several theme papers on "Transportation Systems EMC" ¿ one of the new Technical Committees of the IEEE EMC Society. The SI column and the "Technical Theme" column will be a regular feature in coming issues. Please note, all technical content in the new Magazine will undergo the same review process as established in the Newsletter. In this way, we can be assured of maintaining the integrity of our publication.
