Abstract :
This year, 2012, is iNARTE´s 30th anniversary. iNARTE — the International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics — was first established in Salem, OR in 1982. We moved to Medway, MA in 1991, and again to New Bern, NC in 2008. Our operations began as a result of deregulation of the FCC, which left the telecommunications industry needing a new program to identify expertise among engineers and technicians working in this field. We added our first EMC Certification programs starting in 1989 at the behest of NAVAIR, and subsequently expanded its applicability to the entire fleet, and then into the commercial sector. Today, iNARTE offers more than 18 different certifications for professional engineers and technicians in seven different, yet interrelated, disciplines. Through the years we have carefully chosen to recognize and validate special technical expertise in areas were experienced professionals had no other focused credentialing programs available to them.
