Abstract :
Growing concerns about air quality and the environmental impact of a massive petroleum-dominated transportation industry, especially in large metropolitan areas around the world, has coincided with a competitive market for fossil fuels. Continued increases in petroleum prices are reaching a psychological barrier in the affordability of conventional automobiles. Booming economies in most populated areas of the world have been a powerful catalyst to an already soaring energy situation.
