Abstract :
This paper presents experimental results that demonstrate that the weakly separable polynomial orthonormal transform outperforms the shape adaptive discrete cosine transform (SADCT) and the previously introduced improved SADCT with ΔDC correction at the expense of a nonprohibitive increase in the number of computations. Some other improvements to SADCT-like schemes are also suggested
