Abstract :
If the access point (AP) and all the mobile terminals (MT)s have the same coverage radius R, there will always be terminals in the coverage area of the AP which are hidden to one another. The authors introduce this phenomenon, which is referred to as the natural hidden terminal problem, and the throughput of the AP with even and uneven coverage radii of AP and MTs is analysed, considering capture effects. The effect of uneven coverage radii is analysed and compared for uniform and Gaussian terminal distribution functions
