Abstract :
Compensation for nonlinear distortion due to fibre dispersion and fibre nonlinearity (Kerr effect) in subcarrier systems by using mid-span optical-phase conjugation is analysed. The results show that both harmonic and intermodulation distortions may be greatly reduced over long optical spans
