Abstract
This letter presents a hybrid approach employing a neural network and the extended Ward-type equivalent method for fast online voltage security assessment of a large power system. The boundary equivalent power injection can be matched quickly by using the proposed approach. Simulation results demonstrate that the new equivalent model results in an excellent external system response to contingencies in the internal system
