Abstract :
A new method for the calculation of parameters of SF6 insulation for extra HV GIS disconnectors is given. This method is based on a new criterion for leader inception, which is connected with the value of the peripheral electric field near the boundary of the streamer zone. The presence of such a critical field is confirmed by analysis of experimental results and physical considerations
