Abstract
A recursive method is proposed for calculating the blocking probabilities of new calls and handover requests in cellular mobile networks with guard channels (or cutoff priority) for handovers. The method is based on a new recursive formula which represents a generalisation of the Erlang B formula used for the full access problem. The proposed algorithm generally holds true for the evaluation of trunk performance with two traffic streams and cutoff priority
