Abstract
This tutorial is concerned with one type of resonant DC-DC converter in which the load forms part of a continuously oscillating resonant circuit. The operating principle and device switching waveforms are first examined; a common analysis method is then used to derive and compare the characteristics of the two principal converter topologies: parallel loaded converter and series loaded converter.
