Abstract
The projects described in this article all deal with network heterogeneity in the context of distributing multimedia information via multicast transmission. Multicasting significantly improves the efficiency of network resource use in situations involving one-to-many or many-to-many communication. Our work addresses application scenarios including video conferencing, remote collaboration, and video on demand
