Abstract
A Ni33Co67 alloy with snowflake-like morphology (ASM) was successfully synthesised in high yield by a facile solvothermal method without surfactant. The concentration of NaOH that affected the Ni-Co morphology was investigated systematically. The values of saturation magnetisation, remnants magnetisation and coercivity of the Ni33Co67 ASM were about 130.5 emu/g, 35.6 emu/g and 0.0302 Tl, respectively. Finally, the authors evaluated the catalytic property of the Ni33Co67 ASM using a model reaction based on the reduction of p-nitrophenol by NaBH4, and the rate constant exhibited good catalytic activity.
