Abstract :
A new generalised code family suitable for magnetic recording is presented here. Proposed codes are based on phase-changes in the line signal so that the QP coding scheme can be seen as a particular form of M-PDC. Coder/decoder schemes are given, and word alignment and error detection are discussed. The power spectral density is also given in a closed form
