Abstract :
For the first time, long period fibre gatings for the coupling of fundamental and cladding modes written on polarisation-maintaining fibre are investigated. It is shown that in this case, loss spectra exhibit polarisation splitting depending on polarisation states of light. This type of long period grating can be proposed as a wavelength selective polarisation filter
