Abstract :
The paper considers the performance of the stored mechanical energy in the moving masses connected synchronously to a transmission system during changes in load, changes in input and changes of transmission capacity, The stored mechanical energy greatly affects the performance of a transmission system during sudden changes in transmission line capacity occasioned by switching out or in a parallel circuit. Such switching operations lead to oscillations of input due to the interaction of stored mechanical energy and the altered difference in phase between generated and received voltages over a transmission line.
