Abstract :
The effect of the phase approximation used in the above communication on the solution is discussed. It can be found that this phase approximation can not achieve the second order accuracy, however, it can reduce the possible maximum phase error especially for far-separated groups compared with only using linear term. Furthermore, we give a new formulation of fast dipole method (FDM), in which the amplitude approximation error is reduced.
