Abstract
In this paper femtocell based mobile health monitoring scheme is proposed using mobile cloud computing. Body sensor network is used to capture the health information of a mobile user and then the information is sent to the mobile device which is registered under a femtocell. The health information is transferred to the femtocell where a health checking is done. If any abnormality is detected, the health data is transmitted to the cloud for access by the health centre. From the simulation results it is observed that femtocell based health monitoring approach reduces approximately 37.94-80.58%, 29.95-80% and 29.9-79.9% of power consumption respectively for accessing medium amount of data in cloud than using macrocell, microcell or picocell base station. Simulation results also present that for accessing large amount of data in cloud approximately 30-80% reduction in power consumption is achieved using femtocell than using macrocell, microcell and picocell base station.
