Abstract :
This paper is a review of a novel compact-range wireless access system proposed for multi-Gb/s data transfer in the 60 GHz band. A large array antenna adopted in the access point generates a quasi-plane wave and forms a stable communication zone proportional to the antenna size. The mobile user standing everywhere within the coverage, receives a stable signal almost free of multi-path. The prototype of a short range gigabit wireless access system including a BB module and a RF front end is established. The system performances such as RF receiving level, bit-error rate and signal-to-noise ratio will be evaluated to verify our proposal.
