Abstract :
Summary form only given. This paper describes how the newly discovered building blocks of the field of Spintronics can be used for nonlinear RF applications. Recent advances in Spintronics are first put into context of the electric charge manipulation (field of electronics). It is reminded how Spintronics devices such as Magnetic Tunnel Junction (MTJ) are relevant in microwave engineering. A brief description of the MTJ technology achievements in the field of Memory and data storage tend to justify the constant shrinkage of fabrication price of this technology, that is expected to keep going over the next years. This paper then addresses a simple MTJ SPICE-model implementation in a CAD software with improved accuracy over past models. Finally, measurements of the frequency response of diode sensitivity is presented, showing unusual behavior, especially favorable at mm-wave frequencies.
