Abstract :
A re-examination of the noise relationships in a receiver is called for in view of changes in circuit design and the expectations of viewers as to picture quality. The author attempts to clarify and quantify the noise-related aspects of the performance of a television receiver. Following this, the study is extended to the antenna system, to show that the CCIR minimum field strengths are applicable in the context of modern receiving installations
