Abstract :
NdFeB sintered magnets with the addition of various amounts of FeGa3 powder were prepared by blending during the ball milling process. The magnetic properties and microstructure of the NdFeB magnets were studied. It was found that the addition of 0.1-0.2 wt.% FeCa3 powder increases tile coercivity of the magnets without reducing the remanence. The improvement in coercivity by the addition of FeCa, powder may be related to the formation of a Nd6Fe14-xGax (x≅1) intergranular phase in the magnets
