Abstract :
Magnetization and shape memory effect (SME) of Fe-Mn-Cr-Si, magnetic shape memory alloy(SMA) have been investigated. The specimen used is a commercial product wire of diameter 1.2 mm. The properties largely depend on heat treatment conditions, so it is treated thermally under three different conditions. As a result, pre-heating before heat treatment is confirmed to be effective. In addition, a difference of oxide layer formation is revealed between wire and sheet specimen. Furthermore, effects of atmospheric condition on oxidation in relation to magnetization are made clear
