Abstract :
The magnetic infrared sensor (MIS) is a detector utilizing the pyromagnetic effect of ferrimagnetic film (FMF) with a low Curie temperature. When infrared rays are absorbed by the MIS, there is a magnetization change in the sensor. This change is read out by a magnetoresistance element and is converted into a voltage with a peak value that increases with a rise in infrared energy. This paper describes the construction of the MIS, and characterization of infrared rays
