Abstract
Generalized synthesis method is proposed and developed for tunable and reconfigurable filters with flexible frequency and bandwidth response characteristics, which includes center frequency tuning, bandwidth tuning, and bandpass to band-stop reconfiguration. Theoretical representation of the effects of tuning elements that are used to tune filters in terms of coupling matrix formulation is also demonstrated in this paper. The proposed method should be able to assist and speed up the design procedure of tunable filter structures.
