Abstract
A micromagnetic simulation based on the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation includes random field terms to represent thermal effects. By recalculating the temperature of each cell in the simulation at each time step the effects of localised heating by a laser and of heat conduction can be included in the calculations. This allows a simulation of magneto-optic recording processes to be carried out. Single bit nucleation in zero field was simulated, as were written tracks
