  • Abstract
MFM signal transformation principle from MFM signals to magnetic fields at a sample surface was clarified by considering MFM tip Green´s functions. The transformation principle was applied to MFM line profiles for perpendicular magnetic recording media. It was found that the tip-sample distance during MFM measurement could be roughly estimated and the commercial magnetic coated MFM tip behaved as a monopole tip by the transformation procedure. Using the above results, the magnetic field analysis at the sample surface was demonstrated by MFM signal transformation
