Abstract
Systems development engineers and programmers in many industrial and commercial situations face the problem of implementing similar software products on a wide range of target computer systems. To provide modern high-quality design and implementation tools on a large range of different development systems would be uneconomical. This article discusses the advantages of using a common host development system, equipped with high-quality tools and cross software, to design, implement and maintain software products for different target environments
