Abstract :
We describe a new robust feedforward filter (FFF) for multi-level decision feedback equalization (MDFE) which has only four poles and one zero. This FFF has low complexity and low power consumption. We evaluate the performance degradation caused by the dispersion of the FFF. With updating the feedback filter (FBF), there is a 0.2-dB loss or less in the required SNR, even though the Qs or pole frequencies are degraded within +/-10%
