Abstract :
Magnetic recording heads are required to perform at higher frequencies as data transfer rate increases. Recently developed nonlinear thin film writer model with eddy current low pass filter addresses the effect of eddy current losses at high frequencies. In this paper, a writer model with concept of complex permeability is shown to be equivalent to the eddy current low pass filter. The simulated head inductance, impedance, gap field agree with measured data
