Abstract
This paper describes the design of a single-turn write head, where the standard coil is replaced with a microstrip transmission line. The frequency and transient response of this head are expected to be superior to current high-speed write heads, and the head power dissipation is also expected to be much lower at high frequencies due to greatly reduced inductance
