The determination of the decrement of a distant station by means of a coil aerial

The paper describes a method of measuring the decrement of a distant transmitting station, which is based on the fact that if a coil aerial be in a plane 45° off the bearing of the station, the current induced in it is 1/¿2 of that when on the bearing. This relation is used to get the value of the capacity which will give half the square of the current and hence give the decrement by Brandes´s method directly from the values of the capacities.
