Abstract :
A new target identification algorithm is presented in this paper. Active contour model approach is applied to obtain the shape of the objects from background. Coherence coefficient criteria derived for polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image is then applied to identify the targets we are interested in. Pi-SAR image of cultivation boxes over sea surface was selected to verify the proposed algorithm. Results show that this algorithm is an effective target detection and identification approach.
