Abstract :
For the problem of splicing two depth maps measured by multibeam bathymetry system. the seafloor is measured according to multibeam principle, and the data obtained are corrected by five factors. Further, Edge beams of two maps are trimmed to align. On this basis, depths of two maps are added using inverse distance weight(IDW) in their overlap region. Simulation results show that connection portion of two maps is continuous and smooth. Thus seamless splicing is accomplished. This method has some value in establishing seafloor depth maps.
