First results of concurrent rain attenuation measurement in three millimeter wave bands

Abstract :
Rain attenuation is measured on experimental millimeter wave terrestrial paths operating in three frequency bands 58, 94 and 122 GHz. Rain intensity is measured continuously at the receiver site. Several recorded rain attenuation events are analyzed and the power law relationship between the rain intensity and rain attenuation is tested in the three frequency bands. It is observed that frequency 122 GHz is not significantly more attenuated in rain than frequency 94 GHz.
