Abstract :
The paper describes the researches which have been carried out at the National Physical Laboratory for the Radio Research Board. A standard method of testing the amplification and input impedance of an amplifier is described, and the theory of the load introduced by the amplifier as well as by reaction is shown to agree with the observed results. Some preliminary experiments on distortion are described, output wave-forms from audio-frequency amplifiers being analysed.
