Abstract
Solid-state memories are rapidly becoming the dominant medium for information storage in digital systems. Their ascendance has been steady, almost slow, until recently. The situation has changed dramatically during the last few years because of technology and circuit advances offering substantial benefits to the user in terms of cost, versatility and performance.
