  • Abstract
The Plessey Company has received a considerable amount of publicity in the national Press over the past year or so. First there were the problems caused by the Post Office´s cutbacks in telecommunication-equipment ordering from its major suppliers, Plessey included; and more recently there have been rumours in the City that Plessey was about to be taken over. But almost unnoticed during this time has been the reorganisation of several of the Plessey businesses into one strong grouping, Plessey Electronic Systems Ltd., in June 1976, and the consolidation and progress made by that group over the past year. Recently, JOHN COOPER, Editor of Electronics & Power, visited PESL´s headquarters at liford, Essex, and spoke to managing director FRANK CHORLEY about PESL´s formation and recent progress. But first, the conversation turned to the present industrial climate in Britain and, in particular, the standing of Britain´s electronics industry
