Abstract
The fossil fuels are nonmagnetic partial conductors of electricity with relatively high electromagnetic loss factors. They also absorb energy efficiently from an alternating electromagnetic field, these characteristics are ideal for in situ electrical induction heating, which permits environmentally clean production of petroleum, natural gas, coal tar and electricity on large scales
